Hello!  I’m Joycelyn, the author for Personalized-Poems.com.  I do this simply because I love to write.  It’s a great way to make people feel special, encouraged and loved.

I developed an absolute adoration for reading when I was a child.  I learned that when reading, I could go anywhere, and experience anything all from my bedroom or from my favorite spot in the living room, curled up in a chair!

I also learned to love words and the power that they have to create feeling. As with all power it can be used for good or for evil. I have chosen to use them to create wonderful emotions in people by letting them know how loved and appreciated they truly are.

Because of my love for words, writing, language, poetry, etc., and the joy I have in sharing that with others, I have gained a great respect and thankfulness for teachers.  After all, teachers planted those seeds within me when I was very young.  I would like to encourage you to take a moment and thank a teacher!  No, I’m not a teacher, but they are truly unsung heroes and some of the teachers I have had taught me much more than “book learning” just by being tremendous examples to a very bashful little girl.

I began writing poems years ago and have absolutely no idea how many I’ve written.  I’ve written them for birthdays, anniversaries, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Bosses Day, family events, baby showers, Christmas banquets, baby dedications, just about anything.  I have a special affinity for the silly ones, but I can be serious when the need arises.

I am very happily married, with three human children and four furry ones.  My son is responsible for keeping Personalized-Poems.com looking wonderful on the Web.  He does all of the technical website upkeep (or whatever you call it – ha ha).  Three cheers for a child who will lend “dear old mom” a hand!
